WAYLAND, MI — After months of planning, an old but new drive-thru restaurant was delivered to West Michigan Tuesday morning.
“Our burger baby is born,” said Gun Lake Casino CEO Monica King, smiling with excitement as a crane positioned itself to lift the iconic sloped red roof of Hot ‘n Now.
“I am ecstatic,” King said.
Many people on the team didn’t get much sleep overnight because of the anticipation, she said.
The building was delivered and placed Monday, Aug. 26, at 1146 129th Ave. in Wayland, halfway between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo off of U.S. 131.
Much of the kitchen and interior were already in place upon delivery, officials said.
