LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Police are investigating a theft of copper wire at a demolition site in north Lincoln.

On Monday, officers responded to Cargill Ag Horizons near 33rd Street and Cornhusker Highway for an ongoing larceny.

The supervisor reported someone had been entering the location where the company is tearing down grain elevators and stealing copper wire. LPD said an estimated $50,000 worth of copper wire was stolen.

LPD said there were holes found in chain link fences around the property, along with holes dug under doors.
