RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) - Lottery players are making a difference for the third straight year raising $1 billion for education.
The North Carolina Education Lottery has announced it raised $1.07 billion this fiscal year, which is the third year in a row it has raised more than a billion.
This goal broke their original funding goal of $955 million.
According to the release, the lottery has raised more than $12 billion for the state’s education programs since it started in 2006. Executive Director Mark Michalko highlights how this funding reaches every county.
