MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Shelby County Commission rejected on Monday two resolutions over the National Guard. The decision comes as the City of Memphis prepares for the possible arrival of the guardsmen as soon as this week.

During a meeting Monday night, the commission voted on two separate proposals — one asked Gov. Bill Lee to reject the National Guard, while the other asked the Tennessee governor to make sure the National is only used in a support capacity.
