Two men are charged after admitting to their roles in a machete attack and shooting at a Chattanooga convenience store on Friday afternoon.
It happened at Sandy’s Mini Mart on Glass Street around 12:50pm.
The police report says 75-year-old John Edward Goode was seen on camera talking to the victim as Goode was leaving the store.
The report says Goode got a machete out of his vehicle and hid it behind his back as he waited for the victim to walk outside.
The suspect swings the weapon at the man two times while the victim is seen pulling out a gun.
As the victim pointed the gun at Goode, 45-year-old James Goode grabbed him and knocked the gun to the ground, holding the victim in place as John Goode continued to hit him with the machete.
The victim was able to break free and run inside
