A 41-year-old woman from Kirkby in Merseyside has been named as the tragic pregnant woman who died at her home following an urgent medical incident on Tuesday

A community has been left in shock after a pregnant woman died at her home after a medical incident.

Kalaivani Balakrishnan, 41, has been named for the first time after the tragic incident, which saw an emergency response called to a house in Kirkby just before 11am yesterday.

Police and paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service attended a semi-detached property in Highsted Road following reports of an urgent medical incident involving a woman in her 40s. Sadly, despite their best efforts, Ms Balakrishnan died at the scene.
