When Chere Norris was browsing the internet last year, she knew she wanted to get a Maine Coon cat after her previous one passed away. So, she found a breeder in Oklahoma.

“I sent him an email, told him the cat I was interested in, her name was Kyla,” she said.

She said the process seemed very normal at first when she talked with them.

“Do you plan to breed? Do you plan to spay or neuter? All the questions that a reputable breeder would ask someone who is going to adopt a cat,” Norris said.

She was told she would get the cat in about a week once she paid $95
