GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A homeless man was arrested for breaking a window at his ex-girlfriend’s apartment complex in Gainesville.

Gainesville Police Department officers say Omarion Thomas, 19, drowned his ex-girlfriend’s pet lizard “Ziggy” earlier this month at the Oxford Manor apartment complex, located at 2777 SW Archer Road.

They say he filled the bearded dragon’s tank with water after his girlfriend left him in her room to go to work on Nov. 18.

When she returned, she found the animal floating in the water, and she kicked Thomas out of the apartment.

Officers say he came back Saturday afternoon and threw a rock into the windows of the complex’s community center.
