CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Two people were displaced during an apartment fire in Western Branch on Sunday evening.
The fire at the Chesapeake Point Apartments in the 3500 block of Towne Point Road was reported at 6:16 p.m., according to a Chesapeake Fire Department spokesperson.
Due to its proximity to the city lines, Suffolk and Portsmouth fire departments were also dispatched automatically. Suffolk Engine 5 arrived first, at 6:23 p.m., and began battling the blaze.
Damage from the fire was confined to the kitchen area, according to the spokesperson. No one was home at the time, but two adults will be displaced and are making their own lodging arrangements.
No injuries were reported. The fire was marked under control at 6:29 p.m. The fire marshal’s office is investigating.
