MADISON, Wis. – The city of Madison's snow emergency continues into Sunday evening, affecting street parking and snow plowing operations.

Residents are advised of alternate side parking rules and free overnight parking options.

Crews will plow roads overnight from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. on December 1, 2025. Residents should park on the side of the street with odd house numbers.

Violating winter parking rules can result in a $60 fine and a $115 towing fee.

Free overnight parking is available in city garages from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. during the snow emergency. However, parking in metered areas or on the top levels of garages is not allowed. Vehicles cannot remain in a garage for more than 48 hours.

To assist snowplows, people are encouraged to park off-street and keep trash and recycling carts
