An investigation has been launched by police after two malicious communications were sent to a college.

Police were called at 11.53am on Tuesday to One Sixth Form College in Scrivener Drive, in Ipswich, after two written malicious communications were brought to the attention of staff.

The students, visitors and employees were evacuated from the college while investigations took place.

Hundreds of students poured out onto the streets surrounding the college as police taped off the entrances to the site.

Officers, including those using specially trained dogs, carried out searches of the buildings and spoke to pupils and staff.

During the search, no suspicious items were found - so the cordon was removed and the building reopened by 4.57pm.
