Portland police are looking for the driver of a Toyota pickup truck they believe hit a bicyclist on the Morrison Bridge Sunday morning, then fled the scene.
The cyclist was on his way to Providence Bridge Pedal, a family member told police. The annual event allows cyclists and pedestrians to cross seven Portland bridges and closed crossings to traffic as early as 5 a.m.
Police responded to the hit-and-run around 8:30 a.m. At the time, westbound lanes on the Morrison Bridge were open to traffic, but eastbound lanes remained closed.
The cyclist was heading westbound when the driver of a white Toyota Tundra hit him from behind and knocked him into the road, the news release says. Police think the driver pulled up to the cyclist and briefly stopped before fleeing the scene. Officers searc
