PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A full house isn’t always common at Board of Elections meetings in Pitt County, but Tuesday was a different story. Dozens showed up to see the county’s early voting plan for the 2025 municipal elections get adopted.

Chair Gary Weaver called the board back to reconsider the plan it adopted on July 31st.

The Pitt County Board of Elections Director, Dave Davis, says Weaver received complaints about the Agricultural Center being the main early voting site instead of a site in Greenville, such as the Drew Steele Center.

One board member says she didn’t agree with those complaints.

“They were very unkind in their comments about their own colleagues,” said Board of Elections member Etsil Mason. “They insisted we have a meeting and reverse it.”
