A 1-year-old child was hospitalized after a near drowning at a hotel pool in Windsor Locks on Tuesday afternoon.

The family of the 1-year-old was at pool inside the Ramada by Wyndham Hartford North hotel, located at 383 S Center St., around 3:16 p.m. when they noticed that the child had fallen into the pool and appeared to be in distress, according to the Windsor Locks Police Department .

Adults entered the water and retrieved the child who was immediately transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. Police said the child was stable by the time they left the hotel en route to the hospital.
