LONE OAK, Ky. (WSIL) -- Deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an armed subject at the Waffle House in Lone Oak on August 9, 2025.

The sheriff's office said one of their deputies saw a vehicle speeding away from the scene and conducted a traffic stop in a nearby parking lot.

Authorities detained all occupants of the vehicle. The sheriff's office said they found an assault rifle and a handgun during a search.

Investigators said one of the firearms was reported stolen from Union City, Tennessee. They also identified one suspect as a convicted felon, prohibited from possessing firearms.

The deputies arrested Jermize Weddle, 25, of Union City. He was charged for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
