KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A maintenance crew replaced a wall inside a Knoxville woman's apartment recently, and she said they found more than expected.

Issues with moisture and mold were reported in Tamika Callahan's Steeplechase unit two years ago. She showed us the punch list she handed to the management office when she moved in April 2023. Callahan told us that because her health is bad, she was worried about moisture in one of the walls of her home and other issues. It got so bad that she called the city codes department.

A maintenance worker spent a couple of hours in Callahan's apartment last week painting the linen closet with Kilz, a special primer specifically designed to control moisture. She's lived in her two-bedroom unit at Steeplechase for more than two years. Maintenance r
