MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A Memphis man says a woman he invited into his home left with mink coats, a mink hat, and other items valued at around $80,000.

The alleged theft occurred in July, but Ashley Edward, 38, was booked in the Shelby County Jail on Wednesday on a charge of theft of property between $60,000 and $250,000.

The 74-year-old victim said he left Edward alone in his apartment, and when he returned, she was gone, along with three mink coats, a mink hat, a leather jacket, and $200 in coins.

He said Edward also took the key to his apartment.

The victim said that when he called Edward and asked her to return his property, she threatened to have her boyfriend hurt him.
