HONOLULU (Island News) -- The state's weather remains mostly dry and stable heading into the weekend. The trade winds are blowing steadily and are expected to keep things comfortable, though a few light showers may pop up over windward parts of the Big Island later today.
Forecast models show only small changes in the coming days. The Big Island might see a little more moisture Monday or Tuesday, but most of it is expected to pass south of the island. Otherwise, trade winds will stay moderate to breezy through next week.
Surfers can expect typical summertime waves along south-facing shores through Saturday, with another small south swell arriving by Tuesday. East shores will stay choppy thanks to the trades, and north shores will stay mostly flat.
