Police in Fort Fairfield are investigating a hit-and-run crash on Main Street on Monday evening. Officials believe that an SUV struck an Amish buggy and left the scene.
According to a post from the Fort Fairfield Police Department , the incident occurred around 6:34 p.m. near 300 Main Street. Police say witnesses told them a Jeep Wrangler struck the buggy from behind, pushing it into a parked truck. They say the Jeep continued eastbound on Main Street without stopping,
Officials say a 33-year-old man and a 9-year-old were in the buggy when it was hit, but we're told they are both okay. The horse pulling the buggy was also uninjured.
Chief Matthew Cummings said the crash occurred in a well-lit section of Main Street, and investigators are now reviewing area cameras. Police are asking
