A woman is in stable condition after being shot Tuesday night in Southfield, police said.

Officers were called at about 9:09 p.m. to the 27000 block of Berkshire Drive near Interstate 696 and Evergreen Road for a report of a shooting, according to authorities.

They arrived and discovered a relative had taken a 53-year-old woman to a hospital, officials said.

Investigators said they believe the victim was targeted.

They also said the suspect is at large. Other details were not released.
