The home of a former Mediterranean restaurant on one of Liverpool’s most popular streets could be given a new lease of life. In August the city council stripped La Gomera of its licence after licensee and executive chef, Celal Arslan, appeared in court charged with multiple sexual offences against young women.
Arslan, 52, of Ditton Drive, Halewood , appeared at Liverpool Crown Court via video link and denied 14 counts of sexual offences. A separate hearing was held at Liverpool Town Hall to confirm the business would face sanction by the local authority .
Now a bid has been lodged by an as yet unnamed new applicant to take on the site and reinstate a premises licence. A review into the previous licence was requested by Merseyside P
