GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) announced the district has come to a tentative collective bargaining agreement for teacher pay after over a year of contract negotiations with its union.

Late Tuesday night, the district reported an 11.8% overall salary increase that would bring “historic wage increases for both the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years,” GRPS Communications Director Luke Stier said in a statement shared Tuesday evening.

The tentative agreement must now be ratified by both the Board of Education and the Grand Rapids Education Association (GREA), the district’s teachers union, before it becomes official.
