Milky skies continue:

The bad news is that a pretty clear sky is not expected over the next couple of days due to smoke. The good news is that air quality will remain good, since most of the smoke will remain up in the sky.

Rain chances:

Tonight we are tracking a few showers and thunderstorms clipping our easternmost counties. Heavy downpours and lightning are the main hazards.

Late this weekend into next week, rain chances will rise as thunderstorms roll in. A heavier storm or two is possible. We'll have more details on which days have the best chance , and how strong the storms will be as we get closer.

Summer heat continues:

Friday and Saturday will see heat indices nearing 100. Friday in particular looks to be the warmest.
