GALLATIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - A controversial proposal for a new marina and mixed-use development on Old Hickory Lake is moving forward once again after the Gallatin City Council voted to move it out of committee Tuesday night.

The proposed marina would add more than 200 boat slips, and the development that comes with it would bring in more than 100 new condos, several retail spaces and a new restaurant.

For more than an hour of the Gallatin City Council’s work session, resident after resident spoke in opposition to the proposal, citing concerns about traffic and environmental impacts, among others.
