Officers responded to an Exxon gas station located at 5 John Fitch Blvd at 11:26 p.m. on Monday, for a reported robbery.

According to police, the two masked individuals asked for cigarettes from the clerk. Once the clerk turned to face the suspects, one individual sprayed the clerk with an aerosol fogger. Officials say the aerosol fogger was likely bear mace.

Then, the suspects grabbed the register and fled on foot.

The victim was evaluated by ambulance personnel on scene.
